Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri in Garda Area Fraud Attempts

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or urban police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, disappear.
