Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri in Garda Area, Warns Authorities

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas by phone, proposing magazine subscriptions linked to the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or Municipal officials.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.
