Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, individuals contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
