Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to various military magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having money, no longer make contact.
