Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, these scammers propose subscriptions to magazines of the arma.

They are not military personnel, but swindlers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
