A French tourist in his fifties has been reported in Sirmione for photographic harassment after being caught taking pictures of women under their skirts. The man, who has been on vacation in Italy with his wife for a month, was enjoying capturing the faces and intimate parts of passersby, taking advantage of the crowd to carry out his illicit actions. Local carabinieri intervened after receiving a report regarding the tourist’s suspicious behavior near the castle.
Following a brief chase through the throngs of tourists, the man was apprehended and found to be in possession of approximately 5,000 photographs and hundreds of videos recorded during his travels across various Italian cities, including Sirmione. He has been charged with disturbing the peace under Article 660 of the penal code, raising concerns about responsible tourism and the safety of visitors in crowded places.
