Sirmione has recently unveiled the winning projects of the “NextGen” initiative, dedicated to young people and focused on sustainable projects. This initiative, promoted by the Municipality in collaboration with Sirmione Servizi and Youth Policies, aims to enhance youthful creativity through innovative ideas ranging from environmental protection to recreational spaces. Four projects have been awarded scholarships worth 500 euros each, the result of a training program conducted by industry experts. Among them, “Carbon Sink” by Alessandro Toniolo envisions the creation of a green area cultivated with dwarf bamboo to absorb CO2; “Riciclo” by Antonio Alemanno proposes an app for the reuse of used items, while “Salvaguardia dell’ambiente” by Simone Maraviglia aims to raise awareness about the biodiversity of Lake Garda. Lastly, “La Casa della Anto” by Antonia Carotenuto offers a space for social activities and the revitalization of Punta Grò beach.

The Sole Administrator of Sirmione Servizi, Valentina Raimondi, expressed pride in the commitment of young people to realize their ideas and emphasized how these initiatives can contribute to building a sustainable and inclusive future. Miria Bocchio, the Delegate Councillor for the Environment, also highlighted the importance of sustainability as a conscious lifestyle choice. This initiative thus represents the first step towards concrete actions aimed at the social and environmental well-being of the local community.
