A new case of the black market in fashion has been uncovered thanks to the intervention of the local police in Sirmione, leading to the arrest of two Romanian citizens. The two men, aged between twenty and thirty, were stopped while transporting a significant load of stolen clothing valued at a total of 21,000 euros. Among the seized items were shirts, dresses, t-shirts, cotton pants, jeans, and colorful children’s shoes. The merchandise was hidden in the trunk of the car, covered with blankets and still had its tags and anti-theft devices attached.
During the inspection conducted in recent days, the police discovered that the two had used shielded bags to evade the security systems of the stores. An investigation is currently underway to trace the commercial establishments from which the stolen goods originated, with the intention of returning them to their rightful owners. Both arrestees will face charges of theft and receiving stolen goods; this operation also marks a new development in the local police protocol, which has initiated a fingerprinting system at the Desenzano Command for the immediate identification of individuals involved in illegal activities.
