Sirmione Conducts Search and Rescue Drill for Missing Persons in Historic Center on March 8

A search and rescue drill is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, from 8:00 to 14:00 in the historic center of Sirmione, organized by the Civil Protection Association in collaboration with the local police. Around 20 volunteers and operators will participate in an integrated simulation of a complex urban intervention, including canine, communications, emergency coordination, and nautical units.

The exercise will simulate the search for a 12-year-old boy with autism who is hypothetically lost in the area. Local authorities, including Mayor Luisa Lavelli and Police Commander Mauro Fezzardi, emphasized that the event is purely a training exercise aimed at testing protocols and improving response times. Any presence of equipment or personnel in the area will be part of the scheduled training activities.
