The discovery of possible explosive devices at the bottom of the lake has led to the establishment of a restricted area within the San Vito Park in Sirmione. The alert was raised after a canoeist, while training, noticed suspicious objects at a depth of about half a meter. These findings, which could either be old military artifacts or harmless pine cones, prompted the individual to contact the Coast Guard. Consequently, the local police cordoned off the area, keeping it off-limits until the situation is clarified. The bomb disposal experts from the Tenth Engineer Regiment of Cremona have been tasked with conducting an inspection to assess the discovered material. If the presence of explosives is confirmed, demining operations will be initiated; otherwise, if they turn out to be merely pine cones, the matter will be resolved without risk. This incident is not isolated: there have been similar reports in the past that turned out to be unfounded. The area will remain restricted until all necessary checks are completed. Italian Version
