Sirmione inaugurates new school focused on environmental sustainability
The new school “Beata Benedetta Bianchi Porro” was inaugurated in Sirmione, an innovative project that places environmental sustainability and inclusion at its core. This morning, Mayor Luisa Lavelli presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility, which can accommodate up to 450 students and offers spaces dedicated to well-being, pet therapy, and literacy for foreign students. The new school is the result of a redevelopment and expansion project with a total investment of approximately 13 million euros, also funded by a 5 million euro contribution from the Lombardy Region.
The school stands out for its 18 bright classrooms, specialized laboratories for art, music, and computer science, as well as a library and multifunctional spaces. Designed with sustainability in mind, the building uses recyclable materials and renewable energy sources to minimize its environmental impact. During the inauguration, Lavelli emphasized how this facility represents an opportunity for new generations, fostering local talents through a stimulating and inclusive educational environment.
