Sirmione: seizure of aggressive Rottweilers after attack
Two Rottweilers have been <strong confiscated in Sirmione following yet another attack involving a dog and its owner. The two animals, known in the Lugana neighborhood for their aggressive behavior, were often left unleashed and without muzzles, raising concerns among residents. The most recent incident occurred near the Migross supermarket, where the Rottweilers attacked an Alaskan Malamute, causing serious injuries to the animal and also biting its owner who intervened in defense. Following directives from the local health authority (Ats), the dogs have been transferred to the Desenzano kennel for assessment of a potential rehabilitation program. The situation had been known for some time and had prompted numerous reports from citizens. After a complaint was filed with the Carabinieri, the authorities’ intervention led to the seizure that took place on Friday, September 19. The owner of the Rottweilers, described as uncooperative in managing his animals, may now face charges of personal injury and a request for damages. The incident has generated a wave of solidarity on social media, with hundreds of comments and an online petition that has gathered around 600 signatures calling for restrictive measures against the dogs and their owner.
