Students and Community Foster Awareness at Aias Event in Gorini Theater

More than 200 students took part in the meeting with the disabled community promoted at the Gorini Theater by Aias, the Italian Assistance for Spastics Association.

The middle school students were accompanied by fourth and fifth grade students from the Istituto Canossiano. In this regard, the valuable collaborative contribution of Principal Sergio Todeschini and Director Sister Dina, as well as the entire teaching staff, was appreciated.

The meeting echoed a previous event held in Calcinato. Once again, the highlight of the event was the presentation of «Voglia di vivere», a series of booklets unified by a particular feature: all the authors are students with disabilities attending the Nikolajewka school.

The presentation and activities

The reading of the selected excerpts was entrusted to actors Edi Gambara and Ermes Scaramelli, interspersed with musical pieces performed by the ensemble «Vox aurae».

At the end, the students handed over drawings and reflections on the topic, asking many questions which were answered by Marialuisa Radaelli, president of Aias, Rosa Manessi, and Giuliana from the Comunita Mamrè.

The aim of the initiative was to provide accurate information free of prejudice, raising awareness among young people that the rehabilitation of people with disabilities necessarily involves enhancing physical, intellectual, and emotional resources.

Considering the attention and participation, this objective can truly be considered achieved.
