In Desenzano, the pedestrian historic center is set to undergo a significant transformation, with the opening of a public consultation period for citizens regarding the new sustainable traffic plan. Councillor Pietro Avanzi and the local police chief Marco Mensi presented the modifications concerning parking, access, and loading/unloading in the squares on Monday evening, with the project expected to be approved in two weeks. The aim is clear: to reduce vehicular traffic and implement an electronic monitoring system to ensure a more livable and safer center. Among the changes, it is planned that Piazza Malvezzi will remain entirely pedestrian, with designated time slots for loading and unloading goods. Residents will be allowed to access the area by car, provided they register their license plate, while suppliers will have dedicated spaces available. Additionally, there will be significant changes to traffic patterns, including the establishment of one-way streets and new areas designated for taxis and motorcycles. These measures aim to create a more modern and efficient Desenzano, while also addressing concerns related to changes in the daily habits of the citizens. Italian Version
