Castiglione delle Stiviere: Forced Lockers and Major Theft at the Pool A bold theft occurred at the San Pietro municipal swimming pool, located on Via Don Mazzolari in Castiglione delle Stiviere, where a criminal operated undisturbed among bathers. According to investigations conducted by the Carabinieri’s Operational and Mobile Unit, the perpetrator managed to enter the facility by pretending to be a regular visitor. Five lockers were forced open, resulting in the theft of mobile phones, wallets, and cash totaling approximately 500 euros; among the stolen items was also a debit card used to carry out fraudulent withdrawals that netted an additional 1,200 euros.
The investigations, which began immediately after the victims reported the thefts, led to the identification of a 37-year-old man of Moroccan descent residing in Sale Marasino. Currently under investigation for aggravated theft and unauthorized use of payment cards, the legal proceedings are still in the preliminary phase. As mandated by law, the responsibility of the accused will need to be established during the trial, in accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence.
