Torbole confirms its status as an international capital of iQFoil, hosting world-class water sports events. Starting from May 1st, the Circolo Surf Torbole kicked off the 2025 season with the second leg of the iQFoil Italian Cup, which saw the participation of nearly 120 athletes from 14 nations. This event preceded the iQFoil Youth & Junior International Games, scheduled from May 6 to 10, where over 200 competitors from 23 countries will compete for the first time under the new Olympic rules. Among the standout performers in the Italian Cup, Swedish athlete Vidar Nystrom excelled in the under-19 men’s category, while Medea Falcioni shone among the girls.
The iQFoil Youth & Junior International Games represent a significant opportunity for young windsurfing talents, with substantial participation from junior and youth athletes. The first day will feature an opening ceremony at 6:00 PM, along with competitions that include Sprint Racing and Course Racing. Weather forecasts are uncertain, but historically, the north wind could favor the races in the early days. With a wide range of nations represented and a growing interest in water sports, Torbole is set to experience thrilling moments in the international windsurfing scene.
