An injured windsurfer was rescued this afternoon by the Coast Guard while drifting approximately 500 meters off the coast of Torbole. The athlete sustained an injury to a lower limb due to a collision with the boom, which had broken during navigation. The situation required immediate intervention from the coastguards, who reached the windsurfer and transferred him onto their patrol boat.
Once aboard, the injured individual was taken ashore where medical personnel, already alerted by the operations center in Salò, were waiting for him. After receiving initial care, he was subsequently transported to the hospital in Arco for further examinations and necessary treatment.
