Torri del Benaco Ends Photography Summer with Donnini Projection
Photographic summer is coming to an end. And it will close on a high note: on Tuesday, September 4th, in the evening, in the entrance courtyard of the Castello Scaligero, images by one of Italy’s leading audiovisual experts, Enrico Donnini, will be projected. A Florentine, founder of the renowned photography club “Il Cupolone,” Donnini will present a selection of his creative diaporamas at this Torresan event (if it rains, the event will be moved to the council chamber inside the castle). It is already possible to take stock of the sixth edition of Estate fotografica, organized as always by the photographic group «Lo Scatto» of Garda on behalf of the Municipality and the municipal library of Torri del Benaco (this year also under the patronage of the Garda Community) with artistic direction by Reggio Emilia-based photographer Ivano Bolondi, another major player in the national diaporama scene. The feedback is once again very positive; every evening was sold out (as has become traditional, the program included every Tuesday from early July to today). The audience would arrive at the Castello even half an hour before the projections to ensure they secured a seat. While the diaporama program concludes with Donnini’s evening, the exhibitions of the «Estate fotografica» continue in the civic hall of the Castello Scaligero. After a highly successful solo exhibition of Reggio Emilia artist Ermanno Foroni, featuring a moving reportage on the harsh working and living conditions of miners in Latin American mines, now the focus shifts to the autumnal woods, with their shapes and colors interpreted by Bologna-based photographer Franco Tabaroni. On September 8th, the final exhibition of this long Torresan photographic event will be inaugurated: inside the castle, showcase will be given to the «Fragments of the Sea» by Reggio Emilia artist Enzo Zanni, who has already exhibited in several Italian and international cities (some of his works are in the French Museum of Photography). The exhibition will close on September 22nd. The entire summer initiative by the «Lo Scatto» photography group also carried a social dimension. Through the Torri event, the photo club aimed to contribute to the activities of Abeo, the Association for Children with Hematologic and Oncologic Diseases. This promotion engaged both the public and the authors, many of whom during the long event asked to donate their fees to Abeo.
