A 70-year-old hiker was found last night after hours of searching in the woods above Toscolano Maderno, following a report from his wife who was concerned about his failure to return. The rescue operations began in the late afternoon yesterday, Friday, May 2, involving Carabinieri, Civil Protection, and Firefighters from three different provinces, along with twelve technicians from the Alpine Rescue team supported by a specialized canine unit.
The hiker was located around midnight; he was discovered at the bottom of a ravine, where he had become trapped after an accidental fall. Although injured, the hiker was conscious, and while his condition was serious, it was not critical. The search efforts highlighted the complexity of the rugged terrain and the need for a coordinated response among the various rescue teams.
