Toscolano Maderno’s Cantalago Stage Draws 1,500 for Local Contest
Approximately 1,500 people attended the «Cantalago» stage at the former horse racing track in Toscolano Maderno. Truly a huge crowd.
The winner was 16-year-old Mariangela Parpinel from Novate Milanese, with her performance of «I will always love you» by Whitney Houston. In second place was Lorena Lusenti from Manerba («E poi» by Giorgia), followed by Giuseppe Concin from Sopramonte («Per amore» by Andrea Bocelli), and Paola Cestari from Gardolo («Il mare d’inverno» by Enrico Ruggeri).
Original sections and hosts
In the original debut section, success went to Stefano Peli from Concesio («Se ci sei tu») ahead of Alessandro Molinaro from Caldiero («L’ombra del ciliegio»). The evening was hosted by Federica Moro, who was overwhelmed with autograph and photo requests after the show.
A selection for access to Miss Italia was also held. A jury composed of administrators, essentially the entire Toscolano Maderno City Council, led by Deputy Mayor Vincenzo Chimini and Tourism Councillor Fabio Cauzzi, chose the most beautiful girl in town as Elena Olivieri, a 17-year-old from Brescia.
Awards and final evening
The fair-haired girl, 1.72 meters tall and weighing 52 kilograms, had as her bridesmaids Nausica Pellegrini, 24, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, and Luana Vollero, not yet 18 years old.
Adding further excitement to the evening were Elisa Antonelli, the Desenzano native Diletta Orlandi, comedian Giusy Venere from Vicenza, and the dance troupe of Nando De Bortoli, consisting of Deborah Arduini, Serena Parisotto, Lisa Lambo, Federica Bianchini, and Silvia Poletti.
Final stage
Last night, the «Cantalago» stage stopped in Torbole-Nago, in the park of the Pavese colony.
