The tourist season at Lake Garda has started with great enthusiasm, despite the unstable weather conditions during the Easter period and the long weekends of April 25th and May 1st. With the arrival of Pentecost, the Benaco Riviera is preparing to welcome an increasing number of visitors.
Turistic Presence
According to data provided by industry statistical portals, Germans continue to dominate the rankings of bookings in the last 90 days. They are followed by the British and Americans. Italians are just outside the top three, followed by the Danes. Marco Girardi, president of the Garda Lombardia Tourism Consortium, confirms this trend, indicating that the presence of Germans remains constant and significant.
Growth of Polish Visitors
An interesting surprise is the significant increase in Polish tourists, especially in the Upper Lake area. Locations such as Riva, Limone, Tremosine, and Tignale are experiencing a massive presence of guests from Poland. This result is the outcome of promotional efforts that started about fifteen years ago in Poland, which at the time seemed fruitless but are now yielding concrete results.
Spending Trends
Although Germans are in first place in terms of nights sold, it is the Americans who stand out for the highest average spending during their stay at Lake Garda. This data highlights a change in the economic dynamics of local tourism and could influence the future strategies of tourism operators in the region.
