The return of the body of Luca Pedrali, a 59-year-old cave diver from Chiari who resided in Salò, is expected today, October 13. He went missing on Thursday morning in a karst spring in Oliena, Sardinia, during a deep dive for a speleological research expedition. His wife, Nadia Bocchi, and some family members arrived on the island on Friday to bring him back home. Last Saturday, the magistrate released the body to the relatives without requiring an autopsy, thus allowing for the organization of the wake in Chiari, where the funeral will take place on Thursday. During the incident, the equipment used by Pedrali was seized and analyzed by specialists from the diving unit of the Fire Department in Cagliari and Sassari. According to reports, after surfacing, Luca experienced a sudden illness. Despite prompt assistance from those present, every attempt to revive him proved futile. He was an experienced diver who had previously explored the spring the previous June and was planning new inspections during this vacation with other residents from Brescia.
