Tragedy in Lazise: deadly fire in historic home
A tragedy unfolded in Lazise on the late morning of Sunday, September 7, when a fire broke out in an apartment located in the historic center of the town. Around 11:20 AM, flames engulfed a two-story residence in Piazzetta Beccherie, where a 72-year-old woman was present along with her brother. Unfortunately, the woman lost her life in the incident, while her brother suffered from smoke inhalation.
Upon the arrival of the Fire Brigade, the fire was quickly extinguished, but not before the bedroom was severely damaged and the lifeless body of the elderly woman was found inside. The section of the building affected by the flames has been declared uninhabitable, and safety measures are currently being implemented. The apartment has been placed under seizure to facilitate the necessary technical investigations to determine the cause of the blaze, with local police and Carabinieri present at the scene of the incident.
