A tragedy has struck the community of Canneto sull’Oglio, where a 10-year-old boy has died after experiencing a medical emergency in a swimming pool. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the “Summertime” pool in Torre de’ Picenardi, in the Cremona area, while the child was participating in a summer camp. Around 2:00 PM, the boy began to feel unwell, and the lifeguards, noticing the seriousness of the situation, jumped in to rescue him, bringing him back to the poolside and immediately alerting emergency services.
Despite the prompt intervention of medical personnel and the arrival of the air ambulance, the child’s condition appeared critical from the outset. He was urgently transported to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo but never regained consciousness and passed away yesterday, Friday, June 20. Investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident are currently being conducted by the Carabinieri of the province of Cremona.
