A heated debate is unfolding regarding the future of the Desenzano del Garda Hospital, with the “Let’s Keep Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” Committee calling for greater transparency in local healthcare. In recent days, several statements have raised questions about decisions concerning the hospital, and the committee has reiterated the need for a public and open approach to discussions to ensure that choices truly reflect the needs of the citizens. In particular, there is a request for a comparative feasibility study to evaluate the available options, such as building a new facility or expanding the existing one. The Committee has also raised specific questions regarding the area designated for a new hospital and the possibility of making the results of the study public before its approval. While awaiting the convening of the Assembly of Mayors, the group hopes that this will become an opportunity for meaningful democratic dialogue between institutions and the community, emphasizing the importance of transparency and citizen involvement in fundamental healthcare decisions.
