In Bardolino, spring is set to present a spectacular display of colors with 50,000 blooming tulips, hand-planted in the previous months. The blooming, which began a few days ago, is part of the “Tulipanomania” initiative promoted by the Sigurtà Garden Park and will beautify the lakeside and the districts of Cisano and Calmasino. The landscaping project was overseen by Count Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà, who provided the municipality with 20,000 bulbs. Among the most notable varieties will be the rare Continental black tulip, alongside others such as Red Impression and Orange Emperor.
On the occasion of this floral event, the “Adriano Banterla” photography competition is being revived. Residents and tourists can participate by submitting a photo of the tulips by midnight on April 14. The images will be voted on via the municipality’s Facebook page from April 21 to May 4, with prizes for the three most appreciated shots to be awarded during the Palio del Chiaretto on June 1. This competition aims not only to celebrate the beauty of tulips but also to promote Bardolino as a tourist destination.
