An innovative urban regeneration project has been unveiled for the Desenzano bridge, a historic structure inaugurated in 1854 and reconstructed in 1946 after World War II. The Brescia-based startup Holidea has introduced “Under The Bridge,” an idea that transforms the bridge into a multifunctional park, enhanced with urban gardens, squares, bars, and restaurants. This initiative stands out for its integration of sustainable architecture elements, featuring a structure inspired by a “reclining Eiffel Tower,” constructed with steel and wood modules.
The project aims to reduce environmental impact through the use of recyclable materials and minimizing land encroachment. It includes thermal photovoltaic systems and a rainwater collection system, ensuring not only energy self-sufficiency but also sustainable water resource management. With this proposal, Desenzano is set to undergo a significant transformation that combines contemporary design with respect for the environment.
