From December 7 to 31, 2024, the Lake Ledro Pile Dwelling Museum will host the event “Spatial Prehistories,” an immersive experience that will explore the astronomical knowledge of ancient communities. The inauguration will take place on Saturday, December 7, starting at 2 PM, featuring a rich program of activities, including a starlab to discover stars and constellations, accompanied by music from the bluegrass group Blue Weed. Photographer Marco Sirio Pivetti will present a photomapping of the reconstructed pile-dwelling village, while at 6 PM, the light installation “Spatial Prehistories” will be inaugurated, accessible only by reservation.
The event aims to shed light on the archaeoastronomical practices of the Bronze Age, highlighting how these populations had a keen interest in the sky. Alessandro Fedrigotti from the museum emphasizes that the celestial representations of that period reflect a sacred connection with the celestial realm and the importance of solar worship. Throughout December, the museum will be open every day except December 25 and 31, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a prehistoric universe yet to be discovered.
