Verdi’s Requiem Performed by Verona Philharmonic in Arco

Arco. For lovers of classical music, but not only, this is an event not to be missed. On Tuesday evening, in celebration of S. Maria Assunta, the patroness of Arco, the culture department of the municipality will offer, on the church’s piazza Collegiata courtyard and throughout piazza 3 Novembre, the famous “Requiem Mass” by Giuseppe Verdi performed by the Verona Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir of the Comunità Italiana dell’Opera.

The concert will be conducted by Maestro Maurizio Baldin, with soloists including soprano Elisabetta Battaglia, mezzo-soprano Larissa Demidova, tenor Ruslan Zinevyc, and bass Ilia Popov. The opera, chosen to celebrate the centenary of the death of the great composer from Busseto, was composed by Verdi on the occasion of the death of Alessandro Manzoni.

The concert begins at 9:30 PM. In case of bad weather, it will be moved inside the Collegiata.
