Two German tourists, aged 61 and 62, tragically lost their lives in a Vespa accident that occurred on the afternoon of Friday, May 30, in Albisano, in the Volpara area of the municipality of Torri del Benàco. The couple was riding along via Volpara when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a wall. The impact was devastating and left no chance for the two occupants, while no other vehicles were involved.
Rescue services, comprised of Verona Emergenza medical personnel, quickly arrived at the scene of the accident; however, attempts at resuscitation proved futile. The Bardolino traffic police and the local police of Torri conducted the necessary investigations and temporarily closed via Volpara in both directions. Authorities are now conducting inquiries to determine the causes of the accident, and currently, no hypothesis is being ruled out.
