Vigevano Police Report Violence After Garda Cartiere Match
The trip of Garda Cartiere to Vigevano ended with a defeat on the parquet and three reports filed against Rivana fans.
What we had anticipated yesterday was confirmed by the Questura of the Pavia center. Outside the Palasport — according to the reconstruction formulated yesterday morning by the investigators — there was a rather violent exchange of courtesies between some Trentino fans and law enforcement.
Two officers, an inspector from the Vigevano police station and an officer from the mobile division (the “celer”) of Milan, ended up at the emergency room due to the blows received. They are expected to be out for about ten days.
Hence, the complaint on a free basis for injuries, resistance to public official, and damage to property, now hanging over the heads of L.B., twenty years old from Riva; G.B., a peer born in Verona; and M.M., thirty years old residing in Arco.
The three were detained on Saturday evening after the game. The episode attributed to them allegedly occurred after law enforcement had already escorted the entire Rivana group onto the bus.
An fan reportedly got off and kicked and punched a parked car on via De Amicis. Two escort officers intervened to restrain him. At this point, another two Trentino fans are said to have arrived to help their companion.
A brawl ensued, resulting in injuries to the two officers and the detention of the three fans. This is the reconstruction of the events presented during a press conference at the Vigevano police station.
Different (and we’ll report separately) is the version of those who participated in the Lombard trip. Meanwhile, comments arrive from the local sports club in Vigevano: “After the Riva match — said yesterday the spokesperson Pacali — the president of Garda Cartiere criticized the behavior of our fans. Everyone should look within their own home: the incidents from the other day have nothing to do with support; these are acts of pure vandalism.”
