Villa dei Colli Lonato Onlus Launches Website to Promote Disabled Rights and Advocacy
The Villa dei Colli Lonato Onlus Association, chaired by Laura Chimini, is based at via Campagna 5 (telephone and fax 030/9908874, e-mail associazione villacolli@numerica.it). It is active in the Basso Garda area with 350 members and offers activities in equine-assisted rehabilitation, information, sports, links, selected intermediaries, and sports activities at national and international levels for people with disabilities.
In the New Year’s greeting letter sent to each member, the esteemed association announces that it is finally online with its website http://www.villadeicollilonato.org. On this site, one can find the framework law 104/92 for assistance, social integration, and the rights of people with disabilities.
An opportunity to be seen, to be closer, and to facilitate access to information, laws, and advice for those in need. Since 1999, the association has also been involved in advocating for children’s rights – explains Laura Chimini. The website offers links for international adoptions and UNICEF. The law 285 of August 28, which provides provisions for the promotion of rights and opportunities for children and adolescents, is available for download.
Story of a Denied Right and Social Commitment
Under the section “denied rights,” we tell the story of a father affected by personal disorders who continuously seeks revenge on his ex-wife, targeting a minor to vent his frustrations. This reality is accompanied by complacency among institutional figures. All evidence is documented through court filings, psychosocial investigations, and expert reports highlighting inefficiency, indifference, and disinterest towards the minor’s rights.
“Ensuring maximum anonymity,” continues Laura Chimini, “we trust in the willingness of citizens to share their experiences and express their opinions. Our task will be to gather proposals and forward them to the appropriate authorities to produce legislative initiatives that guarantee the rights of minors and the justice system we often feel is necessary.” A Christmas plea of great human and civil significance that prompts reflection.
