An important initiative for the well-being of cancer patients has been launched in Desenzano del Garda, where the ESA association has donated a virtual reality headset to ASST Garda. This tool will be used as a complementary therapy to alleviate symptoms such as anxiety, stress, and pain in patients undergoing treatment. The donation was officially announced on Tuesday, October 7, at the local hospital, and the headset will allow patients to immerse themselves in experiences designed by psychological well-being professionals, thereby promoting relaxation and better emotional self-regulation. Roberta Chiesa, General Director of ASST Garda, emphasized the importance of this project, highlighting how scientific studies demonstrate the effectiveness of virtual reality in supporting traditional therapies against the milder symptoms of oncology. Nini Ferrari, President of ESA, also reported previous successes with this technology at the Civile Hospital in Brescia, confirming that the headset represents a valuable aid during the complex journey of chemotherapy. Sessions with the headset will be guided by a psycho-oncologist and will last approximately ten minutes each. Italian Version
