The XVI Vittoriale Prize will be awarded to Francesco Tullio-Altan, one of the most renowned Italian cartoonists, on Saturday, November 1st at 6:30 PM. Altan, known for creating the beloved character Pimpa and the satirical figure Cipputi, embodies a freedom of expression reminiscent of Gabriele D’Annunzio, to whom the Vittoriale pays tribute through this recognition. His work ranges from children’s publishing to political satire, influencing films and animated series as well. The prize, which consists of a sculpture created by Mimmo Paladino, will be presented by the president of the Giordano Bruno Guerri Foundation at the Museo d’Annunzio Segreto. This event not only celebrates Altan’s talent but also his lasting impact on Italian culture; his works continue to provoke thought and laughter across generations. Admission is free until seats are filled. Italian Version
