Registrations are now open for “Viandanti con gusto” (Travelers with Taste), an excursion to discover the traditional flavors and most picturesque corners of Valvestino. The event is organized by Pro Loco, Visit Valvestino, and the Alpine Group, and will take place on Sunday, April 28th.
Participants will meet in Turano by 9:30 am to embark on a 12 km loop trail with an elevation gain of 610 meters, exploring lesser-known spots in the valley such as the old fountain, the bear’s cave, the Persone pools, the chestnut path, the old water mill, and the historic Venetian sawmill, as well as the villages of Armo, Persone, and Moerna.
Along the way, there will be five tasting points where participants can sample local typical products. Upon returning to Turano, at the Alpine Group headquarters, there will be a serving of carne salada (salted meat) and beans. Tickets cost 30 euros for adults and 15 euros for children under 12 years old.
To participate, it is necessary to book by contacting the telephone numbers 0365.745060 or 334.1757117. During the excursion, the Don Porta botanical museum, the sawmill, and the mill will be open, offering demonstrations.
