Warning: Fraudsters Impersonate Police for Scam magazine Subs

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have fallen victim to individuals who, after receiving money, disappear without a trace.
