Water Treatment Firms Collaborate in Garda Area for Environmental Sustainability
An important meeting between two companies responsible for water treatment and environmental protection took place in recent days in Castiglione delle Stiviere between INT.DEP.CAST srl (Intervento Depurazione Castiglionese) and Azienda Speciale Garda Uno, the municipal utility company of Garda.
Attending were the respective Presidents Nunzio Belluzzi for INT.DEP.CAST and Guido Maruelli for Garda Uno, along with their general directors, Mr. Franco Richetti and Mr. Mauro Morandi.
Special witnesses included the Mayor Arturo Sigurtà and the Castiglione Environmental Councilor Giuseppe D’Ambrosio, who formalized the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the management coordination of public services related to the environment.
Essentially, the two entities have initiated a form of cooperation that will see both companies engaged in managing their respective services in the Garda Bresciano area and the Alto Mantovano.
Goals and activities of the collaboration
The primary aim is to finalize the overall organization and coordination of services in order to optimize delivery and improve quality of life, environmental protection, and public health.
Awareness campaigns will be promoted among users regarding the rational use of resources, with particular emphasis on the need for regular maintenance of internal water systems.
Special attention will also be given to the use of environmental water resources, as well as to waste recovery and reduction.
Among upcoming initiatives, the two companies, in agreement with each other, may promote the development of dual networks for residential, commercial, and productive settlements, methods for the use of treated wastewater, and the recovery of materials and energy from waste.
In accordance with their respective duties, the companies will honor recent regulations issued by the Ronchi and Galli Laws.
The memorandum of understanding does not specify, from the part of the municipalities involved in the territorial associative structures Garda Uno and Int.Dep.Cast, while maintaining the autonomy of local communities, the assignment of services to the companies of the mentioned entities.
The collaboration initiated with this agreement will not be limited to general consultancy activities, but will also include optimizing the disposal of plant residues, residual sludge from treatment plants, as well as the dry fraction of municipal solid waste, cogeneration, research and design activities, and promotional and awareness campaigns.
