A decisive intervention recently enabled the rescue of an injured eagle on Mount Spino, in the Upper Garda area. The bird, found with a broken wing and in a severely weakened state, was reported by a hiker who spotted it seeking refuge in the vegetation. The Provincial Police Operations Center promptly activated a rescue team, supported by a former local officer and staff from the Pirlo refuge at Spino.
The agents, who arrived from Brescia, successfully located the eagle in the underbrush and retrieved it safely. After securing the bird, it was transferred to the Wild Animal Recovery Center in Valpredina, in the province of Bergamo, where it is currently receiving specialized veterinary care for its rehabilitation.
