This morning, Wednesday the 19th, a passerby spotted the body of a woman in the lake, just a few meters from the shore at Spiaggia degli Ulivi, in the municipality of Toscolano Maderno. The report was received by the Coast Guard’s operations room around 11:10 AM, prompting an immediate response from the Coast Guard’s SAR Unit and the Carabinieri, along with personnel from the emergency medical services (118) and the Local Police. Despite resuscitation efforts performed on the middle-aged woman, medical staff confirmed her death.
Authorities are conducting investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of the incident and identify the victim. At this time, no hypotheses are being ruled out, including that of a deliberate act. Firefighters have also arrived at the scene to assist with operations and ensure the safety of the surrounding area while searches continue in the lake to verify the absence of any additional individuals in distress.
