Asola: Conditions of the Worker Who Fell from the Roof Remain Critical, Prognosis Reserved. A 62-year-old worker, originally from Calabria and residing in Gussago, is in critical condition following a serious workplace accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Castelnuovo d’Asola. The man was stabilized on-site and subsequently transferred in serious condition to the Maggiore Hospital in Cremona, where he underwent a delicate surgical procedure. He is currently in intensive care with a reserved prognosis.
The incident took place while the worker was conducting an inspection on the roof of a warehouse belonging to Bmatek, a company specializing in formwork for construction. During the inspection, a sheet of asbestos suddenly gave way under his weight, causing him to fall from a height of approximately six meters. Colleagues immediately alerted emergency services, resulting in the arrival of an ambulance, a medical response vehicle, and an air ambulance. The dynamics of the incident are being investigated by technicians from the Ats Valpadana and the Carabinieri’s Labor Inspectorate in Mantova to verify the safety measures implemented during the operation.
