The educational project “On the Road” was recently presented in Desenzano del Garda. It will involve eight young residents from the municipalities of Desenzano, Sirmione, and Rovato, aged between 16 and 24. From May 5 to 11, these young people will have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience alongside the Local Police of their municipalities and at the Regional Unified Emergency Center NUE 112 in Brescia, thanks to the collaboration with AREU (Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency). During the presentation, Alessandro Invernici, Vice President of the On the Road Youth Association, emphasized the importance of this initiative in raising awareness about road safety risks and fostering a stronger connection between young people and institutions.
The “On the Road” project, launched in 2007 and now in its eighteenth year, has already involved over 140 municipalities across Italy and is characterized by a peer-to-peer educational approach. Lorenzo Brollo, head of the educational team, highlighted how the initiative not only provides a unique experience for the participants but also contributes to building a more responsible and supportive society. The central objective remains to educate young people about the culture of legality and road safety, thereby investing in a more aware community.
