Zoomarine Expands Operations with Openature in Lazio, Strengthening Central Italy Presence
Openature has acquired the operational management of Zoomarine, expanding its zoological portfolio to three parks within two years. The Lazio-based park, covering 40 hectares and hosting over 400 animals, attracts nearly half a million visitors annually, positioning itself as a key attraction in Central Italy with a focus on zoology, education, and conservation.
The acquisition prompts a reorganization at Zoomarine, maintaining employment for 150 staff and planning space and experience upgrades aligned with the group’s strategy. The park features species such as African penguins, giant African tortoises, and sun conures, and recently celebrated the birth of a baby grey seal. CEO Umberto Maccario announced ongoing development plans for the park’s offerings.
