On June 21, the exhibition “The Enchanted Set: Angio Zane and the Filmography of the Area from the 1950s to the 1960s” will be inaugurated at the Paper Museum of Toscolano Maderno. This event will celebrate the historical significance of the Valle delle Cartiere, once a film set where in 1956, the director from Salò, Angio Zane, filmed movies such as “La capinera del mulino” and “Esploratori a cavallo.” Organized by the Fondazione Valle delle Cartiere in collaboration with the Angio Zane Archive of Salò, the exhibition will be open until September 14 and will offer participants a journey back in time through films and documents that recount the history of cinema in this enchanting area.
The inauguration will begin at 6:00 PM, accompanied by a concert from the Lake Quartet and a screening of the documentary “Miniera azzurra,” made in 1950 about fishing in the lake. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will also be able to view Zane’s works in dedicated rooms. This event represents a unique opportunity to rediscover the connection between 1950s cinema and the beauty of the Toscolano Maderno valley.
