Park redevelopment in Sirmione: improving accessibility and pathways
Sirmione: The Redevelopment Project for Parco Callas and Viale Gennari Unveiled. The Municipality of Sirmione has recently presented an ambitious park redevelopment project that encompasses Viale Gennari, Parco Maria Callas, Lido delle Bionde, and part of Parco Tomelleri. During the meeting, the Public Works Councillor, Maurizio Ferrari, emphasized that the initiatives aim to enhance accessibility for visitors, both towards the lake and the historic center. The plan involves the regeneration of approximately 12,300 square meters, focusing on creating new accessible pedestrian pathways for individuals with disabilities.
The construction will take place over two years, from October to May, with a total estimated budget of 1.4 million euros, of which 200,000 euros will come from the Lombardy Region. The first phase of the project will primarily address Viale Gennari and Parco Maria Callas, featuring reorganizations of pathways and new architectural structures, such as stone pavements and Botticino marble benches. Subsequently, the second phase will concentrate on the lakeside areas and Parco Tomelleri, introducing a new ramp made of Lessinia stone and expanding the lakeside pathway to ensure greater accessibility for all citizens and tourists.
