An initiative that appeals to the male conscience in the context of San Felice del Benaco is taking a new and important direction in the fight against violence against women. It is the presentation of the book “Cosa vuoi che sia” (What Do You Think It Is), a collection of sixteen stories of women who have experienced manipulation, abuse, and violence. However, this event is not just a moment of reflection but takes on a distinctive character for its target audience: men.

The San Felice del Benaco administration, with an innovative spirit, has decided to address this event primarily to men. The goal is to tackle the problem of violence against women at its root, overcoming the idea that it is a distant or external issue. In this perspective, violence is no longer seen only as a physical act but also as a product of harmful thought patterns, often so deeply rooted and habitual as to be invisible.

Listening, understanding, and change emerge as key words of this event. Everyday reality, close relationships, and family dynamics are places where the problem nests and perpetuates. The choice to focus attention on men between the ages of thirty and forty, a time when many experience family life and fatherhood, emphasizes the importance of a cultural change that starts from the foundations of society.

The book presentation is scheduled for April 14th at 6:00 PM at the Palazzo dell’Ex Monte di Pietà, located in Piazza Municipio n1 in San Felice del Benaco. In addition to the book’s authors, the Chiare Acque Anti-Violence Center, an organization committed to fighting violence against women, will also be present. Participation in this event symbolizes a significant step forward in recognizing and combating the multiple forms of violence and promoting a culture of respect and gender equality.

The event represents not only an opportunity for reflection and awareness but also an active commitment to contribute to cultural change, starting with the recognition of the often invisible realities that permeate everyday life.
