Renovation Bonus in Milan: deadline and 50% deductions

The Renovation Bonus at 50% is still active, but the deadline is approaching. According to the latest announcement from the Revenue Agency on June 19, 2025, taxpayers can benefit from a tax deduction on renovation expenses for their primary residence up to a maximum of €96,000, thereby recovering up to €48,000 over ten years. However, starting in 2026, the rates will change: the deduction for primary residences will decrease to 36%, while for secondary homes it will be reduced to 30%. This makes it urgent to commence work within the next year to maximize the economic advantage.

In Lombardy, and particularly in Milan, where renovation costs are among the highest in Italy, the Renovation Bonus proves to be especially advantageous. For instance, for a renovation expense of €80,000, the savings with the 50% deduction amount to €40,000. If such interventions were postponed to 2026, the recovery would drastically drop to just €28,800. It is therefore essential to act promptly and maintain accurate documentation of expenses to ensure access to the available tax benefits.
