Candy theft in Arco: minor arrested and uncle involved
A theft of 600 euros worth of sweets has landed a 17-year-old boy and his 30-year-old uncle in trouble, both of whom were arrested by the carabinieri in Arco. The incident occurred on August 29, when the minor decided to steal food items to organize a birthday party for his cousin, which was scheduled for Sunday. Lacking sufficient funds, he took sweets from the shelves of IperPoli and OdStore while his uncle waited in the car.
Security personnel noticed the pair and alerted undercover carabinieri, who apprehended them shortly after. Stolen products were found inside the Fiat Panda. The 30-year-old’s arrest was validated with an obligation to reside at a specified address, while the minor was released without any precautionary measures. The family offered a compensation of 500 euros, but the final amount will be determined in court, as the hearing has been postponed pending the presence of representatives from the involved stores.
