Sirmione and Sustainable School: Educational Innovation for the Future
Today, the new primary school in Sirmione was inaugurated, an innovative project aiming to become a model of sustainable education and educational innovation. The institution, which will open its doors on September 12 welcoming 300 students, has a maximum capacity of 450 pupils thanks to its 18 bright classrooms. The facility includes spaces dedicated to inclusion and social interaction, such as laboratories for art, music, and computer science, as well as multifunctional rooms and areas for theatrical activities. An important feature of the school is the Pet Therapy classroom and other spaces designed for the well-being of students.
The new school has been designed with a strong focus on environmental sustainability: built with a mix of concrete and wood materials and equipped with photovoltaic systems capable of covering 75% of its energy needs, it represents a significant step towards educating respect for the environment. Deputy Mayor Maurizio Ferrari emphasized that this space is intended to welcome and nurture young citizens, while school advisor Miria Bocchio described the facility as “a laboratory of humanity and knowledge,” highlighting the importance of nurturing individual talents.
