The event organized by the Red Devils of the 6th Wing of the Italian Air Force with the Frecce Tricolori was a great success. On Tuesday, April 16th, the “Let’s Give Wings to Our Dreams – School Day 2024” took place at the Ghedi Air Base in the province of Brescia. The aim of the event was to promote the values and traditions of the Air Force and share the history and professionalism of the institution with young people.

The initiative saw a large participation from schools not only in the province of Brescia and Bergamo, but also from Milan and Viterbo. Visitors had the opportunity to witness the acrobatic maneuvers of the Frecce Tricolori, a breathtaking spectacle in anticipation of the start of the 2024 acrobatic season.

This year, for the third time in the history of the National Acrobatic Patrol, the “Aermacchi MB.339PAN” aircraft will bring the longest tricolor flag in the world to the United States, symbolizing Italian identity and the excellence of Made in Italy.

During the event, guests were able to visit an exhibition area with stands provided by the Air Force General Staff – 5th Department, a historical exhibition on the 101 years of the Italian Air Force, and various flight simulators. Several aircraft were also present, including the Eurofighter Typhoon from the 4th Wing in Grosseto, the PA-200 “Tornado,” and the F-35A “Lightning II” aircraft.

Colonel Luca Giuseppe VITALITI, the Wing Commander, welcomed the attending students and gave them the opportunity to speak and interact with the personnel of the 6th Wing. During the visit, the students were able to deepen their understanding of the tasks performed by the Air Force in service to the community, such as emergency medical transport and support to Civil Protection.

The event was a success both in terms of the large audience participation and the enthusiasm generated by the acrobatic maneuvers of the Frecce Tricolori. It was an initiative that allowed young people to get closer to the Italian Air Force and learn about its activities and capabilities.
