Renzo Iorio Elected President of Federterme, Leading National Spa Association
Renzo Iorio has been appointed as the new President of Federterme Confindustria, effective December 19, 2025. This marks a significant leadership change for the organization representing the Italian thermal industry since 1919, as Iorio takes over from Massimo Caputi. His role is pivotal for shaping strategies related to health, tourism, and employment within Italy’s thermal sector, particularly as he is also a board member of Terme di Sirmione.
In his inaugural address, Iorio emphasized the need to enhance thermal facilities as not only health centers but also as vital contributors to social cohesion and local economies. He aims to focus on scientific research and the preservation of thermal water resources, planning to initiate advanced clinical studies and collaborations with academic institutions. Iorio’s extensive background in corporate management and institutional relations, including his current role at Terme di Sirmione and previous positions in various major companies, positions him well to lead Federterme towards a more prominent role in the wellness and tourism sectors.
